Thanks to the wonderful folks over at Lawrence and Wedlock (special shout out to Shivali Mistry), we now have an 'RPA Accelerator' process template in our Library.
They've shared their experience on how to get started with process discovery for an RPA project.
Head over to the Process Template Library now and copy it into your Skore Workspace.
How do wait times work in Quantify? Do they count towards the FTE numbers? Do you model out the other tasks that could happen during 'wait' times?
These were the questions from a new user to Skore, trying to understand the Quantify functionality.
Sharing our response in case anyone else finds it useful:
- The âwaitâ on a process is a wait-time before the process can start (e.g. waiting for approval or a response).
- The wait time does NOT impact the FTE calculations; the assumption is that they will be doing other tasks.
- We donât model out other tasks that they are doing during a wait time, as this would get very complicated, very quickly.
Note: Itâs worth pointing out that wait times are great when youâre modelling a single instance of a process, however, they will add up when you start simulating different volumes, which doesnât always make sense.
Who else struggled at first to get their head around them?
I was talking to some users earlier in the week and they were asking me if they should always use Whyboxes between Whatboxes.
My answer was Yes, well, mostly.
Whyboxes are a great way to get people to think about their processes, challenge the need for steps, and to agree clear handovers between people.
Useful questions to ask when you're struggling to define a Whybox; 1. What would you miss if you didn't carry out the activity? 2. What could you measure as an output of the activity? 3. What's the value the activity delivers to the next step in the process?
We used the example of defining a Whybox for 'Boil water'. How do you know it's boiled? What do you observe? Is there a measure that doesn't involve dipping your finger into the water?!
What are your best tips for defining great Whyboxes?
Weâve been invited by Capterra, part of Gartner, to gather further information about our software product, and weâd love it if you could leave a brief review about your experience with Skore.
We would appreciate your honest feedback, and in addition, Capterra is throwing in a 20⏠gift card.
If you missed the webinar earlier this week where Dave King, Angus Sim and I discuss bridging the BA / IT gap... you're in luck. We recorded the session!
